“Premium” is a broad financial and marketing label, not one optical design. The useful comparison is between focus range, astigmatism correction, night-vision effects, spectacle goals and suitability for the individual eye.
Enhanced monofocal, multifocal or trifocal and EDOF designs each distribute or extend focus differently. Fine near work may still need glasses.
The names can sound similar even though their optical behaviour is different. Ask which distances the exact model is designed to support and which tasks are most likely to continue needing spectacles.
Some presbyopia-correcting designs can cause halos, glare or reduced contrast. The likelihood and tolerance vary by design and patient.
Night-driving expectations deserve specific discussion because low-light visual phenomena may matter more to some patients than occasional use of reading glasses. No lens can guarantee the same experience in every eye.
